18.5 inch barrels, Benelli screw-in choke tubes, two rail sections and an M-LOK forend. Since it's an over/under, it breaks down easily and could fit into a backpack. In the realm of uses I'll never have, I can see this as a great shotgun to keep in an aircraft which flies over dense wilderness- Alaska and the like. You could hunt game with it and keep the second barrel loaded with a slug for dangerous game happening upon you. You can mount a light, an optic, side saddle or a couple of match savers for quick reloads. Paired up with an appropriate pistol, you'd be set. Priced right at 450 to 500 bucks. If the reliability is there, this could be a really useful little shotgun. | ||

That'd rattle yer teeth for sure, especially with the heavy slugs. Google-fu found this thread "Using a recoil calculator: 2 1/2 oz (1,094 grains) @1175 fps in a 7.5 lb shotgun will generate a whopping 84 ft pounds of recoil energy. In an 8 lb shotgun it is 78.75 ft pounds of recoil energy. That's 8 more ft lbs of recoil than a 458 Lott fired out of a 10 lb rifle or about the same as a 416 Weatherby Magnum fired out of a 10 lb rifle. Ether way, better him than me. I wonder if a shooter shooting one of these has to follow the concussion protocol" In a 7lb Jaeger over-under it would be significantly more free recoil energy still. @ 1KPerDay and @ armored ^^^ A quick search of Federal, Remington, and Winchester ammunition websites shows that 12 gauge 3.5" shotgun slugs seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs. No major makers anymore. So if you look at what is available today in 2-3/4" and 3" 12 gauge slugs, they top out at a one ounce slug payload at +/- 1700 feet per second for the high velocity type. Where did the 2 1/2 oz number come from in your above example? So the real free recoil using 12 gauge slugs is significantly less than the above example, roughly half. For sure, they will rattle your teeth, but I have fired hundreds of 12 gauge one ounce shotgun slugs in various shotguns over many years, and never received a separated shoulder.  Brenneke Black Magic slugs seem to be the most highly recommended slugs for dangerous game protection, including big bears. 12 gauge 3" Magnum, 1-3/8 oz / 602 grains, 1502 feet per second, 3014 foot pounds muzzle energy. https://www.brennekeusa.com/br...n/black-magic-magnum Seven pound shotgun = 46 foot pounds recoil energy. Eight pound shotgun = 39 to 40 foot pounds recoil energy. I believe it was a stout charge of tungsten shot, but I googled and found that some people offered (or used to, at least) 3.5" 2.5 ounce heavy slugs. I'm sure you know more than I do  --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels. | |||

^^^ @ 1KPerDay, Looks like you were darn close on your recoil calculation. I looked a bit more for currently manufactured 12 gauge 3.5" loadings and found turkey and waterfowl stuff with 2.25 ounces of shot. I don't see slugs currently manufactured with anything greater that 1.375 ounces. armored can shoot those for me, I have no interest in that! Brenneke Black Magic Magnums are 3" slugs. No need for that extra 1/2. They are spicy. I carried them in my Benelli in Alaska for brown bear defense. 1 3/8oz of lead at 1500 FPS if I recall correctly. | |||

Well that's what I get for not reading the whole thread before I respond.  I will say this. Those slugs really weren't bad to shoot. I attribute much of this to the Comfortech stock on the Benelli. I thought it was a gimmick when I bought it, but still wanted the Benelli. It works. I agree completely that slug recoil is nothing like big rifle recoil. A buddy of mine has a 416 Rigby and a 470 NE. Forget that noise. When he asks me if I want to shoot them, I am happy to decline. | |||

I fell in love with this shotgun the moment I read the first post. I managed to hold off till last night when I ordered one from PSA. With shipping, tax, etc., about $515 and change. I've got an O/U trapgun, so I'm familiar with them and my wife has a couple of single barrel shotguns, so she's familiar with these types of guns, too. I hope to get it by the end of this week, but I haven't bought from PSA for a long time and don't recall how quickly they ship. Hopefully quicker than Bud's. Bob | |||

Same here. Was directed to GrabAGun by Panzer customer service so ordered it from there. About the same price all in. Should have it in hand by end of the week. Can't wait to try it! | |||
