Hi all, I have a Beretta 1301 and I’ve been thinking about sending it to Langdon for a barrel shortening. Wondering if anyone has done this and how happy were you with the result?

Not yet, but I wouldn't give a second thought about any work by Langdon's shop.

I asked them how they deal with the propensity for chrome-lined barrels to chip when being cut and they told me they have a process to prevent this.

After shortening, they Cerakote the barrel, otherwise there would be bare metal at the muzzle.

One thing I find curious is their suggestion for you to pack the barrel in the plastic case the shotgun ships in (if you have the LE version, Beretta doesn't provide this plastic case), and the outer cardboard box the case is packed in. I guess they have had problems with customers sending in barrels in insufficient packaging, resulting in damage at times. The shop will provide you with a prepaid (40.00) shipping label for this if you wish.

Thanks Para, that’s great info. Since I’m local I hope they would let me drop it off.

Man those things look good short. I have a first generation 1301 and although I do not (at all) (even a little bit) NEED to have it shortened, I really dig the look of them short.

With the five shot magazine tube of your first generation model, you are ahead of the game, because that's what's used on the 1301 SBS. On the seven shot models, the tube must be replaced.

Like the photo, the shotgun has a serious look.

Chisel Machining makes a nice full cover aluminum handguard for the 1301 and A300 which Langdon Tactical also sells. Langdon has a pic of it with the 1301 SBS.

Both Aridus Industries and GG&G offer the Zukov handguard for the 1302 Tactical.
