New Smith & Wesson FPC folding pistol carbine just released
*** Old thread revival ***

I just learned about this gun last weekend. From what I've seen and read so far, I'm really tempted to grab one.

The Lovely Girlfriend (TLG) learned about it from her instructor at the nearby range. I've long been a Ruger fan (and have looked into the PC Carbine), but with this Smith, I'm intrigued!

God bless America.

I have had one in 9mm for about a year. I didn't expect to like it but was really impressed with it the first time I picked up one in the gunstore. It is light enough to swing and point easily for me but has enough mass to soak up the (minimal) recoil very well. Even though it has a lot of polymer parts it feels really solid. I have mine set up with a red dot and a light for use as a house gun and a easy to transport traveling gun. I like it well enough that I bought a M&P 2.0 to pair with it.

Since I bought mine they came out with a 40 S&W version and just a few weeks ago one in 10mm.

I used to have an old-school Ruger PC40. That thing was just stupid-grin-on-my-face fun. Smile

God bless America.

Have the PC Carbine as well, but the FPC gets way more rounds down range these days.

Man, I'm glad you offered that comment. I was hoping someone who had both would chime in.

I'm curious... what drives you to the FPC over the Ruger?

God bless America.

Seems like less parts to clean? Smaller, lighter. Wife and nephews like shooting it much more. Makes an amazing truck gun with red dot on a Scalarworks mount and an WML at 12 o'clock on the rail.

The 10mm version is REALLY calling my name. Soon.
Having 30-60 of the Underwood 200-grain heaters loaded up and ready to go … I wouldn’t feel under-gunned at all.
Would make for an excellent trunk/truck gun, and a decent substitute for an AR in that role.

Just do what I did. Buy one in your caliber of choice and then buy the matching handgun. If I am traveling I can just toss the FPC and the M&P in a bag with a few extra mags and I am all set. Cool

I love 10mm and thought about a companion gun but the MP 10mm has so many issues. Turns me off from this gun as I don’t get to have double purpose for the mags.

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Aww, man!
Now I gotta buy a new pistol too?
Oh, the horror! Big Grin

Hmmm… I need to find out whether The Lovely Girlfriend’s M&P mags are compatible….

Yeah, I know, sucks to be forced to buy a new pistol. Razz

I was told that M&P 1.0 and 2.0 mags are the same, the 9mm FPC will accept 15 round and higher mags.

Like OttoSig I have heard bad things about the pistol in 10mm so I would probably avoid that one.
