I keep reading this, folks say get At The Front or ammogarand. Can they be that bad? It’s cotton webbing and 3 fittings.

At half the price of the other places are they worth it or should I just spend a little more?

Get one of these. Nylon not cotton but look and feel like originals. Read the reviews.

The ones that came with my rifles from the CMP are just fine for my purposes. It's well constructed, adjusts easily, and holds the rifle securely. I have no complaints.

I imagine most of the complaints about them are from high power shooters who have some very specific requirements. I don't do that, so I can't speak to its shortcomings in that specific discipline. If you're not putting on a shooting jacket and doing competitive positional shooting out to 600 yards you'll probably be more than content with the one from the CMP.

It’s ok. It does what is needed. Good to use in the “hasty sling” technique. If you want a sling for serious positional shooting work w/ a US Military surplus rifle you need the M1907 sling.

If you are talking about the OD green sling for the M16/M14/M1 with a clip on the end for easy removal. They are regular mil spec slings. I have several. One canvas and two are nylon. If they are talking about the leather sling with all the holes (M1907), then those are probably used and very old-I’d buy a new one if you need that

Thank you very much for the generosity, but I have already ordered 4 of them, for less than $12 each they gotta be worth it. Went ahead and bought one for the 10/22 and 870.
