I went with a Palmetto State complete upper w/ a SS 20” barrel 1:6.5 twist. I have had very good luck w/ PSA uppers and stuff so I figured why not.

That will work -- you should have an upper that cycles reliably and shoots well to 600-ish yards. I don't think you'll experience exceptional accuracy for the longer distances, however.
