Pulled out the Yugo to re-familiarize myself with the takedown etc. I'm glad I got it when I did (2016) since prices have gone the way of most milsurps. I picked up a Chinese factory 22 shortly after. I do one search a search on SKS and now my feed is full of 10-12 year old videos. It's an interesting history and enjoy learning more about it.

Fighting the good fight |
Of my two, I prefer the standard pattern SKS. While the standard SKS is quite handy, the 59/66's grenade launcher and gas cutoff/sight (as well as chunkier stock) make it noticeably more awkward and unbalanced.

Fun rifles, wish I'd gotten one when they were plentiful & affordable. Got tossed an SKS & AK47 years ago & a couple hundred rounds of 7.62, and 50 acres to wander. Preferred the SKS to the AK, in part because we had a faulty magazine for the AK that would fall out after a single round was fired, and we didn't want to walk all the way back to the house to exchange it. The Enemy's gate is down.

I have one SKS left, a Tula. The Yugo's are high quality and robust. These days I think people finally appreciate the SKS. If the prices are a gauge...
