Dwill104New Gun Sunday CMMG Mk47 Dissent
Something different in 7.62x39 that isn’t an AK. Added the Magpul sights, but I haven’t decided on an optic yet. Will probably wait and see what’s out there for Black Friday sales.

Delta-3That is the epitome of an AR/AK hybrid rifle. CMMG did everything right with these.
I'd like to hear a range report on this as I've been contemplating one for some time.

VgexVery cool. I've always wanted a CMMG Mutant, but this seems to give the advantage of the folding stock and sealing up the rear. My only issue with the CMMGs that take AK mags is the lower. Twice I have visited gun shops and someone had installed the magazine slightly forward and managed to lock the magazine in the rifle. Very weird.
I really like the look of this. Does the gas block adjust for suppressed use?

Yes. It’s a DI system with an AGB. However, with the long handguard, you’ll need to get a long tool to reach the adjustment at the front of the gas block, unless you want to remove the handguard every time you want to make an adjustment. Only nit so far.
On the mags, I had to fumble a little to get a KUSA mag in, but the included Magpul AK mags go in and out pretty easily. The KUSA mag seems a little tighter fit at the front of the mag than the Magpul. I’m not sure if they changed the lower for the Dissent from the previous MK47s, so don’t know if the lockup for the mags has changed.
But, is it possible that the guys at the LGS just aren’t familiar with AK mags? Jamming a mag in there and locking it up sounds a lot like people trying to insert a mag straight like an AR mag, or otherwise trying to insert at a wrong angle and forcing it in. If the hook tab on the front of the mag is sitting against the magwell shelf instead of being hooked on top of it, the rear of the mag will jam up against the mag release.

VgexNeat. I'm glad they stuck with DI, so you get less reciprocating mass up top. I suppose they did something similar to the Foxtrot Mike, which also allows you to have a forward charging handle, while running DI. Looks a lot more polished than the FM, though.

The shuttle (or whatever you call the sliding thing that the CH slots into) looks like it has a groove in the underside so it clears the gas tube.
