Picked up an Egyptian contract 49 in 8MM. Good barrel. No frosting, lands and grooves are sharp. Would like a manual should anyone have one available or can recommend a source. Thanks in advance.

Just ask the company. They have to provide one by law. Razz. Just kidding of course.

I assume you want a true original hard copy but if not https://www.forgottenweapons.c...nuals/FN49Manual.pdf

A bit more then a manual, is the long out of print "The FN49, The Last Elegant Old-world Military Rifle." Author is Johnson. FYI, there are two editions.

I had the FN49 many years back. It had a new stock and looked unfired. The only 8mm ammo I ever had were various loose rounds in my cartridge collection. I sold it along with some other import milsurps without ever getting to shoot it. I had a as new '51 Mas which I never fired. The one I would love to have back, infact, 2 of them was my AG42B Ljungman. I watched the 9hole reviews of that old rifle and it just blisters targets at the longest yardage. Time was Shotgun News and SOG had all manners of extras and manuals if you needed something. Stuff dries up over time so you might find a pdf on line to print. F'n Clinton ban. Good luck.

FN49 is the last good wood rifle. I am lucky to have the 7mm 8mm 3006 and the 308. The AG42 and Hakims are nice
but they will take your finger off if your not careful.
