Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do.

Have one to get set up but have no manual.
Lower says:
CAL. MULTI
Mod. A-15

So does the CAL. MULTI going to mean NATO 5.56/223?I manually inserted a 223 rd to confirm it wasn't something different.
And do you happen to know the twist rate? 16" barrel.

When I try to locate a contact for DPMS it points me to Minnesota. Frame states D.P.M.S Huntsville, AL. USA
Maybe the brand has been sold?
Rifle was bought new about 6 years ago. Never been fired.

My pre-ban A2 clone is a DPMS. The manual with the sale was the genuine DOD manual, nothing from the manufacturer. It's a 1/7 twist, faint markings on the barrel. I think they have changed hands two or three times over the past 10 years or so; formerly in MN but purchased by the group that owned Bushmaster and Remington. Multi: mine is marked .223/5.56 but if not mistaken many companies mark them as multi given the popularity of swapping upper receivers.

ETA; viewing the SOTAR videos that Para posted reminded me of something important. Look real good at the gas key. Mine was not staked or pinned when purchased. I trust between 1994 and 2018 DPMS discovered this shortfall of theirs but ....

Check for markings on the barrel for caliber and twist rate.

Nearly all lowers are "multi" cal, that's the way lowers are entered in 4473s.

You could use that lower on a multitude of calibers. As M499 stated, check the barrel for markings.

I knew it was for multi caliber lower, just had a bit of brain freeze.
Found the 5.56 NATO 1/9 marking on the barrel. Don't know how I didn't see it earlier.
I have my head back in sunshine now.
