A rookie question, with regards to the 700, I am somewhat of a rookie.

I have a new M700 ADL. The safety will not engage with the striker forward (decocked). Is this normal? As soon as you raise the handle, to cycle, the safety is able to be engaged.

Pretty sure my broth-in-law's 700SPS is the same.
My Tikka T3x behaves in the same manner as well, safety cannot be engaged while de-cocked.
