Okay, I will admit to being an AR novise. I have shot a few but never owned one. I am about to have a small financial windfall of about $2,500. The money has no purpose, so it is a good time to buy a toy. I was down the AR internet rabithole and found that Wilson has stock and they are on sale for $1845. I know this is the higher end of an AR and I have considered getting a Daniel Defense instead at about the same price point. Anyone have experience with a Wilson? And thoughts on other alternatives.

Thanks.

I have a few Wilson Combat rifles, plus additional uppers. WC components are part of all my non-Wilson uppers & lowers, with the exception of an LWRC piston upper I won. The LWRC is nowhere near the Wilson rifles in accuracy. You will be hard pressed to find a better AR than one made by Wilson. Mine have been 100% reliable with a huge variety of ammo, in hot/dry/dusty to cold/wet/snowy conditions. Wilson barrels are some of the most accurate barrels you'll see this side of specialty barrels -- like Bartlein and Krieger.

Daniel Defense also makes great ARs, and they are completely reliable. I've shot my Wilsons sided by side against DD rifles. My Wilsons are more accurate -- they have better barrels.

There are ARs that are more expensive than WC. Many are less expensive than WC. Wilson ARs just do what an AR is supposed to do.

i would give this offering some consideration. it would save you about $500 or buy you 300 rounds of quality ammo. And you would have enough left to buy an HK45c and 250 rounds of quality 45 ball. That is what I would do if $2500 fell in my lap Wink Congrats and good luck.
