Had a department demo day from the Sig people about two weeks ago. My department is looking to trade in our Colt AR15 variants. The Sig rifles were a big hit. The M400 11.5” was the fave. The piston driven Spear (LT) for the LE ones were cool but, dang!!! Not cheap. The Romeo 8T was the fave for red dots. Like looking through a big window!!! Easy to use. Even the guy that hates red dots and does not have them on his rifle or pistol said he can tolerate that one. Sig suppressor: Nice, light, and clean!!! The SLX suppressors were a little louder than our department issued Sakers. But, not enough to make a difference. However, they are much cleaner in your rifle’s chamber and the brass is sooty as hell. Also, it does get rid of most of the crap getting barfed back in your face through the ejection port. My state (for LE) is pretty much (I would probably be safe to say) 90% Glock. Whether dept. issued or individual officer purchased duty sidearm. However; Sig is making big hits for rifle sales here. Just a little take away for you to digest…

How did the Spear compare to the M400? Daniel

Heavier up front. From the piston obviously. Recoil impulse was a little itty bitty shove into your shoulder. Straight back. Follow up shots were a breeze. It is a nice rifle. One of our guys order one for himself on the spot. I bought a P365X that day.
