I am looking to purchase a Sig556 and while I really prefer the classic swiss side folders, the older AR style buffer tube versions are much more readily available and cheaper. The one I am likely to buy has a non-side folding AR style buffer tube. Aside from any type of stock that goes on the buffer tube, does anyone have pics of other stock options? The ones that leap to mind are the ACE skeleton style stocks (which I think thread into a buffer tube hole) or adding in a KNS picatinny adapter into the buffer tube hole and then adding any form of 1913 stock. Any pics or other advice would be welcome!

Here is my 556 with the ACE stock screwed on the buffer tube hole __________________________ "Para ser libre, un hombre debe tener tres cosas, la tierra, una educacion y un fusil. Siempre un fusil !" (Emiliano Zapata)

I went with the screw in pictanny adapter and a 1913 stock (a sig one not that it matters). But KSGM is probably your go to on this so hopefully he will chime in. “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”

PGT may be a better source; he has a lot of variants. I never had an AR-stock receiver.

I tried several options... M4 tube with SB Tactical folding adaptor... KNS Pic adaptor with Sig MCX stock... Strike Industries stock with the M4 tube and SBT folding adaptor... Eventually I found a 556 Patrol, swapped the folding lower onto my 556, and sold the Patrol for what I bought it for... More recently, I picked up a P556 (same M4-style receiver) and SBR'd it with an ACE/DoubleStar adaptor, folding mechanism and stock. I've been on the lookout for another reasonably priced 556 sidefolder to do another swap, but I think I like the Galil-style ACE stock on the SBR.

This is always the easiest. Seems these rifles are worth more parted out than complete; I've had SO many over the years...bought specifically to keep stuff I wanted and pass on the stuff I didn't. Obviously this is a Swiss style lower with 1911 adapter but the KNS 1913 adapter on an earlier M4 style lower would approximately me the same setup. That's what I'd do if I had an M4 lower and planned to keep it.
