First for 2025. HK MR556 A4
Picked this up yesterday. 11” HK MR556A4 pistol. Added the SBA3 (for now), HK flip up sights, HK Gen 3 polymer mag, and AEMS. Still need to change out the flash hider for a suppressor mount. Filed an eForm 1 this morning.

Disclaimer: No it doesn’t have a chrome lined barrel, and no I don’t care. Wink

That is seriously sweet, and will be even better as a legit SBR. So jealous.

Congrats. I have often thought about getting one but man they ain't cheap. I say to myself I don't need any more guns and I really don't, but the HK Sp5 is calling out to me. I would like to afford a MR556 as HK makes guns that just appeal to me.

Looks great, I think the pistol is what I would buy as well. I think if I get the pistol I would attempt to put the gen 1 rail forearm on it. I just like how it looks with a short barrel.

Let us know how long the efile takes?

Sweet purchase. How do you like the pistol grip? Is it compatible with all the existing AR options?

It’s fine. It seems to be a based on the HK adaptive grip design, although it’s all one piece and lacks the interchangeable grip panels and backstrap of the original. Also lacks the storage compartment in the bottom. Personally, I like it better than the fatter HK battlegrips. Yes, it’s a standard AR grip mount so you can use any AR grip.

Swapped out the AEMS for an Eotech XPS2, which seems to co-witness with the HK 33mm flip up iron sights, and replaced the flash hider with a suppressor mount. Still waiting on the Form 1 approval.

Just checking to confirm that it’s a standard receiver extension/ buffer tube correct? In other words, as soon as your form 1 is approved you can stick a stock on there without having to change out the tube right? Thanks

Yes, it’s a standard buffer tube. It’s the same exact tube that’s on the 16.5” rifle. The pistol simply doesn’t come with the stock.

You'll love it! They are a nice platform and just work. I'm lucky that I have one for work, and it definitely gets used...a lot.

As far as the flash hider goes, we went with B&T Rotex Xs. They mount on a standard A2.

Yep, I bought one also on Jan. 15th.
Mounted an Eotech green on it.
Filed my Eform1 on the 17th.
Put a SBA5 on it for now.
Hole driller.

Very nice. I am torn between the SBR and full size. I already have 6933 and a apc223 sbr so I will probably go full size.

Dwill,
I disassembled the hk for a thorough cleaning and noticed everything in the bcg and underside of upper was engraved ".223 Rem."
Am I wrong thinking this should be marked "5.56" like the lower?

My understanding is this is chambered for 5.56 and not .223 Rem.?

Germany has had a thing about marking military calibers on civilian guns for decades, so they use the civilian calibers on the stuff that has to be marked. May be a law, not sure. The barrel is a 5.56 chamber barrel. It’s 5.56.

Thx for clarification dwill,
That makes sense.
I also could give 2 shits about it not being a chrome lined barrel!

Are you staying with stock trigger?
Mine is about 5.5 lbs with some creep after the wall.

I’m undecided on the trigger. It seems a little worse than the one that originally came in my MR556A1, and not as good as the one in the MR762A4 that I have on layaway. The issue is that I don’t want to give up the 45 degree throw or the ability to put it on safe with the hammer uncocked.
