Builders - Do you save your boxes?
I don’t plan on breaking down any rifles I build and selling off parts so why am I so torn about getting rid of them? Especially lowers that have a sn on the box. It just seems wrong. They sure take up a lot of valuable real estate though.

Maybe it makes more sense if they are high end or well sought after like a Noveske lower (or anything) or DD. My boxes range from Anderson to Aero with a few Geissele mixed in.

Optics boxes I have no problem keeping. They seem to move around a bit more.Do you save the boxes and packaging from your rifle builds such as uppers, barrels, upper and lower receivers, stocks etc?Yes - that and I’ve added on to my house to store them. No, they get burned or tossed immediately.

If anything I will save the box ends of rifles/ etc, that contain the serial number but always toss the boxes.

I used to keep just about everthing, started tossing stuff. Never really was a problem until about a year ago, I ended up tossing my CZ Scorpion OEM hand guard which I'd stored in the aftermarket box. The hand guard was so light, I tossed the box thinking it was empty.

I dont have the patience to keep that stuff anymore.

I’m pretty much the same. I’m in the process of declutterring and simplifying my life. The likelihood that I completely break down a rifle is between never and zero percent chance. I may change a handrail or upgrade a trigger but that’s about it.

Since a lot of the parts including uppers come at various times, in various boxes > NO, not usually.
Some I keep for a while, some not , it varies.
Optics. Yes for sure.

I'll sometimes save the boxes that barrels ship in. I have to send some off, those boxes are handy for such things. Otherwise, most of that stuff gets tossed.

Trashing junk is cathartic. Only highly collectible items have their boxes saved.

Not builder boxes, but built rifle boxes sitting everywhere

I was just looking around at the number of boxes for rifles I have sitting around... Really no reason to save a cardboard box to these things, but there they are taking up valuable real estate Frown

I keep the majority oglf the boxes. I also keep a ledger of every piece of the building, including where I bought it, how much I paid, and the model number.
