Back in the bad ol' days of the Cold War, everybody who wasn't a commie issued their infantrymen rifles chambered for the 7.62x51. Japan and Spain reputedly issued a version of the cartridge that was lower powered (less recoil in FA fire, if my vague understanding is correct) for the "Atare" and CETME C rifles.

Does anyone know offhand what weight bullets they used and what the nominal muzzle velocities were?
