.22 suppressor host rifles.
I’m sure someone mentioned it above, but for really quiet stuff, something that keeps the action closed until everything is over does make a difference.
I have run my Octane 45HD on several 22LR guns.
M&P AR22, 10/22, and Ruger American.
For quiet, the bolt gun is noticeably superior.
But the semi-auto stuff a LOT of fun.

Having gone through 6 different surpassed .22lr rifle combos (semi & bolt action) I have come down to my all-time favorite: the Ruger 10/22 Takedown LITE + Grey Birch La Chassis TKD stock + Franklin trigger + Gemtech Outback IID suppressor + one of several scopes/RDS. Not the most 1-hole accurate nor the absolute quietist setup… but by far the most FUN.

Gemtech is fantastic ammo. For once in my life I was wise and bought about 20,000 rounds some years back. I’ve heard that they stopped making it though.

I have 2 AR uppers. Nordic 9" barrel, with TBAC can. Adequate accuracy, in the ballpark of a 10/22.

JP precision rimfire with an 18" barrel. This rifle is very accurate, as it hangs with many bolt actions out to 200 yards or so.

In the works is a precision bolt action Remington 40-X repeater.

Volquartsen Summit is a good option, 10/22 magazines, straight pull action. I have a Ruger 96/22 lever action and a Tactical Solutions barrel with a fixed shroud that fits over the suppressor. I need to install the barrel and check it out.

I have a 10/22 Takedown with a Tac Sol SBX barrel that I enjoy with my Dead Air Mask, but it’s a little quieter on my Ruger American Rimfire Target. They both make me smile.

I have an AR-22 with a Seekins lower and custom barrel/Aero Precision upper. This is just as accurate as a high end bolt action. About 1/4" moa at 50 yards. The barrel extension is an integral part of the barrel.

The Federal Automatch ammo is very helpful in keeping the barrel and action clean. Shot 325 rounds last Sunday, and did not clean the rifle from the range trip the month before. No hickups at all.

The Smith & Wesson 22 lr AR works really good suppressed and takes high cap mags. My Ruger 10/22 won't cycle real well with subs. I also have a Ruger 77/22 that is really quiet and has a nice trigger.

My thoughts are the same as yours. Several years ago I put one together on a Ruger Charger Take-Down. It fits perfectly in a small backpack because I used the ACE folding hinge on a Copper Custom adapter. I never got around to SBRing it, I’ve got a couple different arm braces that fit perfectly. Also, the binary trigger gives it an extra dimension of flexibility with little to no muzzle rise.

I've tried my 22 can on a few different pistols and rifles. It seems to have found a home on my Ruger Precision Rimfire rifle. There's not any more rabbits in my back yard munching on my Babe's garden and there doesn't seem to be any more turtles in the camp pond. No muss no fuss. It's very accurate though not the most accurate rimfire I own and it's quieter and more accurate than the 10/22's I tried it on.

My biggest take is that I wish I had a half dozen more rimfire cans because they are super fun and very practical for anti-pest usage........

Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

I’m lucky enough to legally be able to shoot kin my backyard. Even though I have 2.5 acreas Unsuppressed is still loud enough to be heard multiple houses away.

10/22 with threaded barrel was my first choice and you need some pretty fast stuff to cycle reliably and then you get the crack even suppressed with supersonic. Even suppressor rated ammo was quieter but didn’t have juice to cycle reliably.

So I found. Ruger bolt 22 takes 10/22 mags and has irons and Ruger dovetail for glass and is threaded. Since it’s bolt I can shoot the slowest stuff through it.

The 500-700 fps ammo suppressed is like a mouse fart. Can go down in my woods and shoot all day. My lawnmower makes more noise.

OP,
The Ruger Charger Take Down has the option of a pistol or carbine.

Tactical Solutions manufactures a 16" Take Down carbine barrel.

MagPul manufactures a couple stocks for the take down.

The Take Downs are NOT as accurate as the fixed barrel 10-22's.

Volquartson manufactures barrels that have the scope mount attached to the barrel for better accuracy.
