M1GarandyWho knows about large frame Martini-Henry rifles?
Recently came into a complete M-H .577/450 front end and a buttstock for what appears to be a later model variant (forend hook rather than a pin). Barrel finish isn't great above the wood line, but for the age, the bore and chamber look really good.
Thinking of building it up and have been offered a late type receiver, but would still need things like a lever, buttplate and screws, the stock cup that the lever sits in, a breechblock and extractor to convert from .303 back to 577/450. Other than eBay, and IMA, any good sources (preferably in the US) for parts for the large frame M-H?
Also, as far as books about the M-H go, anyone have any recommendations as to what to read or what to stay away from?
Thanks.

YooperSigsI understand the Brits converted a lot of them into shotguns, so I would guess rifle parts exist somewhere.
Numrich or Sarco, maybe?

sourdough44My mil-surp collecting son has one. I don’t know a lot about it, I’ll check. This is a complete, fully functioning gun.

Mars_AttacksMany of them were converted to dangerous game hunting rifles. It was the strongest action available for a long time.

Sarco has nothing for the large frame Martini at the moment. Numrich has 8 parts, none of which I'm after at present or are more than I think they are worth. I did find another source last night, need to contact them for more info.
