aguilar64Small scope
What's an affordable good scope for an AOW/SBR rifle, I don't want a Red dot / magnifier combination.
7.5 inch barrel 5.56
5.5 inch barrel 9mm

hrcjoncolor me a bit confused. Neither of those guns need a 'scope' if you mean a magnified optic for the range and accuracy they are capable of delivering. Get a decent red dot and be happy, no magnifier needed. If for some reason that doesn't make you happy then the issue becomes affordable and good are conflicting, but I'd probably drop an ACOG 1.5 on them if it had to be magnified.

Jimmo952Sounds like a low-powered prism optic might be what you are looking for.
That ACOG 1.5 recommended about would certainly be a great choice but there are other decent prism optics out there that also would work.
Advantages of prisms include small size, robustness and etched reticles.
Due to the etched reticle, they are still usable without battery power.
They are also more forgiving if you suffer from astigmatism ( unlike red dots).

Black92LXI hear the new Primary Arms Compact 1-8 is pretty good but at a hefty price
https://www.primaryarms.com/pr...eter-556-308-reticleYou added your want for a Prism optic as I typed the last.
Also their Prism optic is supposed to be pretty good.

vulrathI've been eyeing a Strike Eagle 1-6x or 1-8x myself for my 16" rifle, assuming I don't dump cash into a 20+" upper down the road.

joatmonvI went all in on my 8" AR pistol and mounted an EoTech. Not sure what your definition of affordable is.
Vortex makes some good prisms at very decent prices.
