Shallowest lockable hard rifle case?
Looking for a very shallow lockable hard case. Needs to be at least 33” wide on the inside and as shallow as possible.
Don’t need any frills or fancy interior organization.

There was a brand that went out of business that might of been perfect. RyhnoTek or something. Anyway...
Best i saw for a no frills and slim/thin:
MTM Case-Gard RC34 SBR Gun Case
Ive used MTM ammo cases before...they are "ok", no experience with their rifle/pistol cases. Magpul cases are not bad.. but yeah they are like 6" deep/tall.
for the dimensions:
: Internal Dimensions: 34” x 9.6” x 3.2,” Outside Dimensions: 35” x 11.8” x 4.0” Weight : 4.4 lbs Made in USA

Plano is another MTM type case that is pretty thin. I would never put it on a plane, they are t too robust.
I have used one in the past to protect ice fishing rods. It didnt survive a propane tank at -10 but the rods did.

What’s your budget? iCC (Impact Case Company) makes some very thin flat aluminum gun cases. They’re pretty expensive but they kick the crap out of my Pelican cases, especially for air travel.

Kalispel cases are similar to ICC.
