Thinking About building a piston AR
From what I can see, there's no industry standard for piston rifles as there is for direct impingement. So if I decide I have to build one , what's the best direction to go in terms of suppliers of the necessary bits?

I've built lots of direct impingement guns. Any special tricks or issues I need to be aware of for a piston build?

Last question: If you have a piston AR, do you find it to be worthwhile?

One of the tested and true brands that will be brought up is the Adams Arms kits. Advantage is when running suppress, no gas to the face... and it does run cleaner. But in the end it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

I have both.
I like piston AR's.
Only have built Adams Arms units though and have an XCR.
Wouldn't mind a PWS rifle.
Been plenty of arguments on the subject but it will never be "settled".
YMMV

I have a 5.56 rifle from Adams. As above, it doesn't necessarily do anything for most people that a DI won't, but it's certainly every bit as good. If you want one, go for it.

All, thanks so much for the feedback. Looks like the Adams is the way to go. An added bonus is that I can find them in Canada.
