I am looking for a slim rail for a couple of builds. I really like the Noveske NSR but they are very expensive. I am not opposed in getting them but if I can find something like it and save a few bucks I wouldn't mind. Please suggest any possible options.

Midwest industries has some good ones. I’m putting a 12.65” GL3 in a 14.5 build I’m doing. It’s 1.5” OD. Very slim and light.

I took the crappy cheese grader quad rail off one of my Colt's and installed this ALG Defense rail. Great bang for the buck and a excellent barrel nut design. Bill Geissele is making these for his wife's Co.

I went with the BCM MCMR for my newest setup. Very slim setup, and I like that there's no lug on the underside to clamp the barrel nut.

I just installed a Diamondhead VRST rail on my AR. Very slim and its contoured to fit your hand on the bottom.

I have two Magpul MOE SL Hand Guards and like them. $34.95 to $39.95 depending on length.

Not sure they're slim enough to meet your requirement for slim but check out the Daniel Defense Omega Rail.

I have them on 2 of my ARs and I really like them. Slim and light.

Midway USA also offers MLOK and Keymod rails in various lengths with about a 1.4" ID.

Bootleg PicMod for one of more recent builds, but then again I've become somewhat of a PWS addict.

This UTG Pro SS usually gets good reviews, made in USA, not too hard on the wallet.

Another recommendation for the Midwest Industries rails. They are so thin and light.

If you’re trying to cover a can, I went with a ALG EMR for my latest 9mm build, in progress, and my Silencerco Octane fits perfectly under it.

No room for MLOK nuts but I didn’t plan that...wanted the slimmest profile possible.

The ATLAS handguards from AERO might be another option...I have handled a couple builds which had them installed and they felt good...I've been pleased with the two AERO standard handguards that I've used on a couple of my uppers...

M-LOK are a little higher in price...

3rd vote for ALG. Very good (and light) rails for the price.

I like my BCM Alpha rail on my SBR. Pretty slim and comes in around 8oz.
