You'd likely be able to just hit it with some spray matte coat to knock down the sheen, rather than completely repainting it.

Regarding this tape that I received recently:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B..._03_01_t_img_lh&th=1

Although it is advertised as gaffer tape, it’s significantly different from the other tape I linked to and have more experience with. This tape is thinner and doesn’t stick quite as well as the other type, especially when overlapping itself. It also has more of a fabric type finish whereas the other type is a bit shinier and more vinyl-like. Although I haven’t had a chance to evaluate its long term suitability it removes easily and cleanly after a short application.

I have redone one of my rifles with the new tape and will see how it does longer term, but the other tape is clearly more durable.

I got that tape as well, on your recommendation, and experienced the same thing. Doesn't stick well. I meant to follow-up in this thread, but kept forgetting. Thanks for bumping it up!

I try to be careful about what I recommend, but I shouldn't even mention something until I've tried it myself. I can attest, though, that this type sticks well with several years experience with it.

And I have read posts online of people using white horse vet wrap for non-permanent snow camo. Personally I would only use something synthetic so it won’t hold moisture. I have a couple USGI mags that rusted inside a buttstock mag pouch, and no desire to have that happen on a whole rifle.

That video of Rob Ski’s was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread.

So would this be a good tape to do a rifle and scope?
