Howa bolt guns
I've seen this brand for sale on various online sites and occasionally at the local stores. For anyone who owns one, how is Howa's overall quality/accuracy?

I don't know how they are these days but in years past, Howa bolt action rifles were of superb quality, very underrated.

BTW, it's your one year anniversary of the same question: https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0039505?r=1630039505

Well then, that's a sign. I should buy that Howa.

I only have an Arisaka, seemingly an older Howa rifle. They have a long history, reviews are rather good.

I believe the Weatherby Vanguard is a rebranded Howa. They are known for their accuracy.

I bought a Howa in .338 Win Mag when I lived in Alaska '09-'14. Quality was very good, it's accurate, and well priced.

I bought a Weatherby Vanguard (yes, same rifle) in .270 Win when I first moved back to Texas in '16. Quality is very good, it's accurate, and well priced.

I bought a 26" Howa Chassis Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor in '17. Quality is good, and is well priced for a long barreled chassis rifle. As far as accuracy, I shot steel at 900 yards with it.

I haven't bought one since '17, but haven't heard anything negative during that time either.

I’ve seen dynamite prices at Brownell’s for Howa action/barrel combos.

A few years back, I bought a Howa 1500 barreled action in .308 and put it in an MDT Oryx chassis. Very pleased with the setup.

The Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor Barreled Action is a great platform for shooters who want to build their own long range, precision rifle at an affordable price. Starting with a standard-dimension forged steel short action (SA) receiver, Howa adds a hammer-forged barrel chambered for the popular new 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. The tricky headspacing is even done for you. The Howa 1500 6.5 Creedmoor barreled action has a one-piece bolt with traditional twin opposing locking lugs and an M16 style extractor with plunger. Inside the is a crisp, light, two-stage HACT (Howa Actuator Controlled Trigger) trigger that delivers a consistent, smooth pull and can be set to release at anything from 2.5 to 3.8 lbs. The three-position safety allows the action to be unloaded while on safe.

Includes standard hinged floor plate and magazine box
# 6 heavy / bull barrel or Match contour
1-8" rifling
1/2x20" or 5/8x24" threaded muzzle, with thread cap
Available with Blued or Stainless Finish
FFL required for purchase

Current Brownells price $410-550

they left out a bit, but I guess their contract business is not something they wanted known?

in addition to those mentioned, they also made the AR-180 for Armalite, as well as contract bolt guns and shotguns for S&W
