Just saw something on this new offering while fiddling around this morning. Didn't see a post, so maybe it's not jib-jab.

I had seen/heard it was a wished-for item, and was on the way from earlier posts about the .45 ACP model. Ruger says it is available; and the 30 round magazine is standard.

I don’t need or want one, some do.

I think Ruger is very good at creating firearms people want to buy. Compare that to the Remington brand.

I do realize some of these companies are under a larger ownership consortium. Just talking about the Remington brand itself, as an example.

LOL they ripped off the Kel-Tec Sub2000 just like they ripped off the PF9 and made the LC9 and the P3AT and made the LCP

Makes you wonder do they design anything themselves anymore or do they just copy other designs?

In a 10mm, I'd have a Stribog SP10a3, and be roller delayed and into UMP pattern magazines and AR triggers.

Agree with P220 Smudge, 10mm is more than I'd prefer in a blow-back action.

Another option would be the CMMG Banshee.

And by that, I mean: it's interesting that Ruger came out with this. If I were buying, I'd go with a CMMG personally, and there are other options, but I find it interesting how Ruger steps outside of the box like this sometimes.

Honestly, I don't really find this to be that "out of the box." As noted, this just seems to be their take on a concept others have brought to market in years gone by, with the notable additions of the Mechtech CCU and Beretta CX4 Storm. It's even less out of the box than the S&W FPC as that one hinges at the chamber instead of the stock. That it's in 10mm also isn't exactly out of the box, it's just the next logical step up from a 9mm in a PCC.

I don't dislike Ruger, but I don't know that I want to give them credit here that I don't think they really deserve. This isn't something really all that new or original.

It's outside of the box for a company like Ruger. I probably should have said "outside of Ruger's comfy little box."

Certainly, they're behind others, but you don't see SIG or Springfield coming out with something like this. Of course, when SIG comes out with a 10mm MPX, it will cost 3 times as much.

I’m looking at the Ruger as well. I already have ten or so 10mm handguns and want a rifle in 10mm.

First thought was a 10mm AR upper. I can find those as well as buffers to convert a standard AR, but I can’t find a mag well adapter for Glock mags in 10mm.

So at this point I don’t see much of a choice. Too bad.

Well there's at least one pseudo-AR available that uses the Glock 10mm mags. A couple of years ago I went with the pistol CMMG Banshee Mk10. It's been utterly reliable with both factory Glock and extended SGM Glock pattern mags. The downside is that CMMG doesn't make a non-SB rifle version, only pistol and SBR.

They are only 4 years behind CMMG. I LOVE me some Ruger but damn their carbines are FUGLY.

I got the X-ten, MK10, and a couple others to massage my 10mm desires.

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

I was in the same boat and I just built a lower and bought a bunch of SGM mags for cheap.

This is going to save the US government billions. They can now finally eliminate the hundred plus year old Browning .50 Machine gun, the SIG M17 and every small arm in between. All obsolete now.

(Once they figure out how to attach it to an aircraft, the 20 and 30mm are likely gone as well)

You're right, using the 10mm is probably again the Geneva and Hague Conventions.
