wreckdiverIf you could only have one rifle cartridge
Can't have only one!! My rifle harem:
.50 muzzleloader rifle which uses rifle powder
30-30
.22 and .22 Magnum
5.56 multiple
Yep I know I'm poor in the rifle category!!

Probably because the bullets actual properly spec’d diameter is in fact .224

samnev556, 6,5 Creedmor and 308

jaybirdaccountantI'd only need three:
22LR
223 Remington
308 Winchester.
Actually the 22LR and 308 Winchester could do all I need, but the 223 would be nice to have as well.

Agreed.
.22LR, .223 and .308/.30-06. Oh, and a 12 gauge. Ammo is available (usually) anywhere. You can hunt/defend-yourself from any living thing in North America with these. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

djpaintlesIf you can only have 1 it should be 375 H&H. Shoots flat with 250gr bullets and heavily constructed bullets don't cause excess damage on thinner game "eat right to the bullet hole". Heavy bullets are perfect for large bears, Elephants or anything on earth. If there is only ONE caliber for everything on earth 375 H&H is it.
If I can have 2 the second would be 22lr for obvious reasons.
If I can have three we'll at 308 for it's worldwide availability and excellent accuracy and performance on all midrange game not to forget it's excellent performance in semi-auto battle rifles. 6.5 CreedMoor is a VERY close second especially considering it's target range performance at longer ranges.
Thank GOD we aren't limited to one, two or even three rounds!!!!
