I have a Barska 20x60 "straight" spotting scope. I picked it up used a few years back and it has been fine, no issues at all actually. Yesterday while browsing the local pawn shop I found a Vortex Nomad 20x60 for a good price. I'll assume it's better quality, and it still has the lifetime warranty. The only thing I'm concerned about is that it's the "angled" type. Does this make it more difficult top use off the shooting bench? Any input or opinions? 10mm lays waste to entire cities, cuts through diamonds and will tear Superman a new asshole. - Parabellum Sex offenders can not be rehabilitated. It's in their wiring. It may or may not. It depends on how it is mounted. Both of my spotting scopes are angled and I really like them. One came with a swiveling mounting ring, the other gets clamped in a V-mount that I can rotate.

I use a scope stand-it is technically not a tripod. Tripods have a large footprint (depending on height), mine is called a bi-pod.

I have two spotting scopes with angled eyepieces and one without. I have long been in favor of the angled because it’s usually less critical how they’re positioned. Even when used on a bench, the angled eyepiece provides a little offset from the body that gives more flexibility in how it’s positioned. For most convenient use, it should be possible to rotate the body in some manner. ► 6.4/93.6 ___________ “We are Americans …. Angled all the way!! It is all I ever saw on the line when I was shooting service rifle before my kids came along. It's what I use for bench shooting now, aa was mentioned provides an ability to keep scope off to the side on the bench where you have room left. HK Ag

Agreed. The angled eyepiece will be more comfortable to use once you figure out where to place the scope on the bench. No more cricking your neck to painful angles to see through the scope.
