I was down at my BIL’s in St. Pete Beach over the 4th of July. Chatting about the crazy women we married, I saw an old rifle in his garage. Turns out it was handed down to him from his Grandfather. Unfortunately, the hurricane that buzzed that area last year flooded his house. This rifle was covered in rust heavy in the receiver, but it was hard to find a spot without any. When I looked at it and saw it was a 22, my thought was to throw it away. He then went into the story about how it was one of the only things he has of his grandfathers and he wants to hand it down to his kids. I said, if you can get it to me I’ll clean it up. Well it ended up at my house a couple months ago and I started breaking it down. When I took off the trigger guard it broke into 3 pieces. Same thing happened with the butt pad. The bolt and receiver were toast, with his permission I bought the same rifle off of gb for $100. The one I bought off gb had a cracked stock, that’s why it was so cheap. Blah, blah, blah… I think it turned out great. I’ll give it to him at Christmas.
