I bought a CZ 457 MTR for Mrs. Sig Marine and finally got around to putting it together. Built it with a scope base (50 MOA) and mounted a scope (Vortex Strike Eagle) giving it the capability to shoot 500 yards.

After zeroing the scope, I shot the 10 shot group below at 50 yards using Norma-Tac ammunition. This MTR obviously lives up to the hype!!!

Very nice rig and 10 shot group!

Is that the CZ with tighter match chamber?

I wonder what a ballistics chart says would be the wind drift at 500 yards, say 5mph lateral with that ammo. Smile

As I (redz ) said in the RC post, that looks like a good shooter. Especially shooting that ammo. Barrel seems to like it though. Well done. Big Grin

The MTRs do have the tighter match chamber. At 500 yards, with a 5 mph full value wind from left to right, the drift would be 47.2 inches with this ammo (muzzle velocity is 1096 fps); the drift for a 6 mph wind would be 54.9 inches.

Shooting the .22 at the longer distances is quite challenging. I try to use targets that are 1-1/2 mph to 2 mph wind drift wide; in this case I’d put out a 14 inch plate which gives me a wind error of +/- 1 mph. I don’t give myself that latitude with centerfires but rimfires can be very unpredictable at long distances.

That is a very impressive group for any ammunition, but especially for how I’ve seen Norma Tac perform in other tests. Please keep us posted with future results.

I've taken my Tacsol 22LR out to 300 yards. On the bench at the private range. On a good day you can get the 2nd round in the air before the first one hits the gong. It's a super cheap and fun way to just run through some 22LR.

My 455 LOVES that Norma-Tac. Off a bipod and suppressed it will stack them on top of each other at 50yds. Only thing I don't like about it is it leaves my fingers slippery from the lube on the cases.

I've got a 457 MTR, in the OEM stock.
How did you get that adjustable comb? I don't see that on the website.
Is it custom?

Adjustable cheek riser was done by Joe Ducos, aka StockDoc, of Napa Idaho using KMW Loggerhead hardware from Terry Cross. The hardware allows height AND lateral adjustments and is OEM adjustable cheek hardware on Manners stocks.

His contact information can be found on google or I can send it to you via email.
