I have had a Harris bipod for years on an old Remington 700. Since I don't deer hunt any more, I let a buddy at work borrow the bipod for use on his rifle for deer season. When he brought it back the other day, it was missing the knurled thumb screw that makes the whole damn thing work! He said he looked for it around his house and has yet to find it. I called Harris to buy another one, and the lady that answered the phone said "Our customers lose those screws all the time. We'll send you another one free of charge." I thought that was extremely nice (especially in this day and age) and it made me glad to have done business with them. Just thought I'd mention it. They are a solid bunch of folks! And I won't be loaning anything else to this guy in the future!

I love my Harris bipod, it is on a 6.5 creed, Savage 10 action, with a 27" heavy Xcaliber barrel, chassis gun . . . and I see the newer sexier bipods, but just keep rocking that Harris. It works. Rock solid. Thanks for sharing that customer service story!

A whole metric buttload of prairie dogs would have survived if I hadn't used my good old Harris to steady the Sako. Long live Harris Bipods.

It's pretty rare for a company to give customer service like that in the present day. I told the lady that I appreciated it very much, and her answer was "Well, we hope you continue to do business with us." I assured her that I would pass along the story.

Isn't that frustrating as heck?

People just don't have any consideration any more.

It has gotten to the point I won't loan anything to anyone anymore. If they need to use a tool, they can come over and we'll do the work together.

Same.

If it comes back at all, it will come back damaged in some way. Or missing a key part.
