I have recently purchased an Sig Spear LT and have tried my best to remove the factory flash hider. Am I missing something? It seems like the damn thing is welded on. Any tips on getting this thing off would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to get my Nomad up and running, but this thing has been a real pain in the a##.

I briefly owned a SIG MCX-SPEAR, and assuming your muzzle device is attached the same as that one's was, good luck with removing it yourself.

The rifle went to a friend who needed to remove the flash hider to use a suppressor. He and then the both of us tried all the things recommended in YouTube videos and what we could think of, and nothing worked. According to SIG customer service the device was secured with Rocksett, but despite the claim that that locker is easily dissolved in water, prolonged soaking and then boiling didn’t loosen it.

My friend finally contacted SIG (as the CS rep originally strongly recommended to me), got a shipping label for the upper, sent it back, and after relatively quick turnaround was able to complete his project.

I took it to my gunsmith, who said they immerse it in boiling water for 10-30 minutes and then let it sit in water for 24 hours. I'm waiting to hear back from them on whether they were able to get it removed.

If they aren't able to remove it, I'll send it back to SIG.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

I wonder if that would have worked for my friend. He did essentially the opposite: immersed then boiled for those time periods.
