Yep. 1-8x is the new 1-6x, which used to be the new 1-4x. The good news is that 1-4x prices seem to have mellowed out a little bit.

The new 1x8 is now available at Cabelas - oddly enough you can't find it on the usual search (ITEM # 04724585), but is is listed in the April 6-19 Firearms Sale Flyer for $450
