What is the best way to get a better trigger pull on my Mossberg 500 Persuader? New aftermarket trigger assembly? If so, what is available? Or, is there such a thing as "fluff and buff" tricks to make the pull lighter, and smoother? ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

I have no idea what is available aftermarket wise. You can improve it a bit by pulling it apart and stoning and polishing everything. There is one adjustment for trigger take up (or at least there used to be), but you'll have to refit where it interacts with your safety. It won't make the pull lighter, it just takes out some of the pre travel. Also clipping the hammer spring slightly will reduce the pull some, but obviously it won't hit as hard. I used to shoot lots and lots of slugs through one, so I fiddled with it a good deal. I never had any misfires in 20 years and countless rounds, though the hammer hit was noticeably softer. When I repurposed the gun to a HD role I put a new spring in it. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.
