My next M14 (M25 receiver, actually) will be a medium range, medium-light weight rifle that will have a Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6x scope.

I'm building this as a "do-all" tactical rifle. It will have a 18.5" Kreiger medium weight stainless barrel and will be bedded to a carbon/graphite/kevlar stock with all the NM accuracy mods and have standard M14 iron sights.

The receiver will be a new production M25 receiver (M14 receiver with a picatinny rail bolted to the top)

I'd like some solid throw lever rings. Probably low to medium height. No solid AR-type. That would put the scope way too high.

Tony.

I know not everyone likes them but I've had good luck with the A.R.M.S. rings.

I actually just had a horrible experience with those! Big Grin

Sadly, I'll be skipping ARMS.

Looks like LaRue has a nice offering but pricey albeit not out of range for a quality product.

This is what I bought for a much larger scope I wanted to be able to throw on my AR: Bobro Standard Precision Optic Mount

^^^ I think he is looking for a lower mount otherwise an AR mount would be fine.

Great! I have some LaRue's on my Savage with a US Optics scope and it's working out great. I can see getting another set. The rings came with the scope.

I don't mind spending the $$$.

Benny do you mind describing your problem with the A.R.M.S. rings?
Just asking to be on the lookout for possible issues with mine.

A couple of things I see are that the ring base is a two piece design and the set my customer had was sloppy. He said he had to shim another set as well to get the slop out. Another thing I didn't like was that the lever can't be adjusted to tighten any more on the rail that what it's already set to. You're stuck with how tight or loose it fits. I'm talking about ARMS 22 rings, by the way.

He's switching all his to LaRue.
