patwKeltec KSG for home defense, anyone?
Thanks for the heads up but they sold out quick before I could order one. Many times I kick myself for not acting quicker.

arcwelderIf you only do one thing to the KSG or 7, I recommend the AL trigger. Including Keltec, only 3 or 4 companies make doodah for these. Everything I've done is entirely optional, and really, I don't get why people put optics on these, but I'm not going to complain about ice in your scotch.
After that, use grease, and practice shucking.
Arc.

IndianaBoyI don't own one but they are neat as heck. I would like to lay hands on one and would consider it for HD if it proved reliable, which I have no reason to think it wouldn't.

P250UA5An AL trigger was the best thing I ever did to my P11. Made it dramatically more shootable.
Taking the plastic flex out of the stock trigger upped the consistency & almost completely rid the pistol of the trigger bite/sting on recoil.

arcwelderIt's easy for people to dismiss Keltec, but this is a pump shotgun... It's a simple machine, and if you don't do the job of cycling it, it won't work. It's easy to blame the tool. Folks should be shucking the crap out of any pump they expect to use under stress. If you do nothing but practice pumping and loading, you're waaaaaay along the way of success with any shotgun.
One piece that also works well so far, is the extended selector. I can work it with my wrist. Am I going to practice reloading? No. I have other options if 25 minis doesn't solve the problem.
If you do plan on reloading any pump, but certainly this one... practice practice practice.
I was talking to someone the other day and I mentioned that I was in my basement drawing and dry firing. I go to the range waaaaaaaay less than I used to, but even if I was, spending the time on the draw is key. I mean with my carry pistol there, not the KSG.
Stuff ever really goes down, you need these things burned into your lizard brain. I'm going to keep working on using the KSG, I think it will do fine. Practice. Grease. Some aftermarket parts.. GTG.
Arc.

BrotherDry fire is king. It absolutely burns the neurons in where they need to be. Short shucking just means you aint done the work to get the nervous system in sync. Cool gun. Looking at it, as a successor to my 870 . . .

What is this AL trigger you people are speaking of? I'd like to upgrade my P11.

Mine was from Northwood Components, but I don't think he makes them anymore.
He was a member on the KT forum [KTOG] way back around 2011/2012 when I bought my P11. It was small batch back then even.
Might check over there & see if anyone has one squirreled away.

parabellumI'm always glad to see effective firearms at reasonable prices. As I've said before, self-defense is the right of all people, including those with a limited budget. That shotgun would make for a highly effective home defense firearm.

P250UA5Super light, but man does the recoil get your attention.
One of the few long guns I've shot that actually hurt. Not excessive, but more than just about anything else I've shot. Closest was my father in law's 30-06 with a metal buttplate.
