Boyd’s got back to me and stated that they were able to mount a barreled action to the stock so maybe it was user error on my part. However, I decided I preferred a .308 so I sold the rifle and stock. I will admit that Boyd’s was prompt with replies to my inquiries and didn’t hesitate to bring the stock back on their dime. I’m definitely not soured on their products as a result of this interaction.
