Palmetto State Armory AK-E Experience & Availability
What experience do the Sig Forum members have with the AK-E?
Anybody have Intel on when the next batch might be released?

Palmetto State AK's are good to go. I have one their AK's and its a great gun. Not shot it a lot but I feel comfortable with it in an emergency.

I got mine back in February. It was in stock for less than 5 minutes. I was constantly checking throughout the day for a couple weeks.

I assume they ran good right out of the box.
Any feel for accuracy?
What were prices like back in February?

Mine is the GF3 model with Magpul furniture. I gave about $549 for it in Jan-Feb. It ran like a top the few times I've got to shoot it. Accuracy is good enough for me. I shoot at 4 inch steel plates at 50 yards and it'll hit them if I do my part.

I've not had a single issue out of mine.
I think I paid a little under 900 for mine in February.

The GF3 is not the same as the AK-E

Thank you both for the feedback. Very helpful.
I am looking for reliability in a 7.62x39 rifle. I have narrowed it down to these two rifles for a multitude of reasons.
In the meantime, I started building a precision AR in 5.56. Just cannot help myself...

Pretty sure my LGS has one hanging on the wall and they’ll gladly ship. I have to run over there today. I’ll let you know.

Bummer! Thank you for looking. Hopefully, the trip to your FFL did not cost you too much.

There'll be more. PSA's got a whole lot of R&D and equipment investments to pay off and the Es seem to consistently sell out fast.

How many do they manufacture at a time? 10?
They never seem to be available. Surely they would think with the high demand, they could make a good size run and they would sell.

My LGS has 2 AK 103s and 1 GF3 all forged models if you are interested in those over the E.

I'd guess someone is building them for the company.
No, they wound up buying out a whole production line from another US AK maker that never quite made it. Getting a good US-made AK has been a surprisingly rocky road.

I picked up an PSA AK-103. I picked it up Thursday and took it out to my backyard range during my lunch on Friday. As delivered the rifle looked to be very good quality. Rivets, pins, and finish all appeared to be perfect. Cleaned the barrel and inspected the bolt. All good.
Loaded 4 rounds and took my first shots on 2/3 IPSC steel target at 100 yards. RING! RING! RING! RING!
All shots in < 3" with iron sights and poor eyes. The POI v. POA was about 4" low. Left to right was good. I wasn't shooting for accuracy, just trying to ring steel. Overall, I was impressed.
I ended up running another 36 rounds from mixed ranges and stances. The gun ran perfectly. Ejection pattern was consistent between 2:00-3:00 @ 8 feet from bench. Zero complaints. In fact, I had a lot of fun. Sadly, I ran out of time. This message has been edited. Last edited by: burnetma,
