My buddy is getting older and fishing more than shooting. A few days ago he called and said he had a nice 308 AR that he purchased last year and never fired a round out of it. He asked if I was interested in the gun, a scope and ammo for the gun. I said yes and asked what he needed for all of it. He said let me send a few pics first and I will think about a price if you want it.
When he sent the pics I saw it was a Ruger SFAR. He had also sent a price for the package. $800 for everything . It had a cheap little scope on it, the Leupold was added by me. It is super light and is a great fit for this light gun.
The gun shoots really well and recoil is not much more than maybe shooting an AK47. The brake is really effective. Right now it is about a 1.5 MOA gun. I’ll run some of my hand loads through it to see if I can get the groups down.
This gun is going to be used for hunting in dense area so I’m not worried about it shooting 1” at 100yds. All in all, it was a great deal from a good friend.

Even at the retail price of $900-$1000, the SFAR is one of the best "bangs for the buck" in .308 ARs. For effectively $550ish, that deal was a no-brainer.
