I picked up a Mossberg 590 shotgun in a deal, but cannot seem to find any info on the thing. It has a 20" barrel and full length tube, ghost ring sites, speed feed stock and a bayonet lug. It looks more like a 590A1, but it's not.

I'm fairly sure its not a franken-shottie, but would like to know what it is. Any help would be great.

based on your description it sounds like my 590a1 but you say its not a 590a1. Any pics to post and/or did you check the Mossberg website?

Didn’t see anything like it on the web site. I need to get a gist site for pics.

It's a 590 and they offered a couple configurations. My brother has one just like yours and I have a marinecote version without ghost ring sights bought at the same time in about 1995. Don't think they offer that exact model anymore.

Probably a Mossberg model # 50668. They don't offer this model anymore

Basically a 590 in A1-style configuration, but without the beefier barrel or metal trigger group of the true A1.
