The 7.62x39 Galil project creeps forward.

I'd like to use a Yugo bolt carrier to clear an optics rail. CNC Warrior is currently out of Galil gas pistons, but should have them in stock at some point in the future. Has anyone combined a Yugo bolt carrier and a CNC Warrior piston? If so, and it worked, am I correct in thinking that I need CNC Warrior's Galil piston and not their Galil SAR piston?

If anyone has any suggestions for rails, I'd love to hear them as well. So far the best-established contender for a side-mounted rail is one that seems to sit pretty dang high.
