I've wanted one of these for a bit but the last of "new" production my LGS had from the Remy bankruptcy auction were higher than I cared to spend and lacked the matching sights. I found this one on one of the forums and made a deal for it. It is the "Enhanced" model with quad rail and folding stock.

I was able to find new/old stock parts at MGW and ordered two handguards, the fixed stock shown in these pics and a spare lower module. It's pretty interesting to see the thinking here....AR18 operating design and truly modular. No tools are needed to swap configs around including barrel/caliber changes.

Franklin Armory bought the rights to the platform (and Bushmaster) out of the fire sale and is said to be working on re-releasing the ACR (and hopefully spares and caliber kits).

I ordered a Midwest Industries MLOK handguard for it as well. I prefer the handguard shown in the pics but no idea how long parts will be offered and it's the matching FDE/Field Drab so that saves me a step.

On to pics...I'll be taking it to the range on Monday for the annual private MG shoot a friend holds down south in VA. I'll bring this and my FN FNC with a Butler Creek electronic magloader (which works great).

and with the "Enhanced" parts. Interestingly, the handguard mounts in the same way as the Sig MCX - slide overs the monolithic receiver and secures with a single pin

Neat looking rifle, was thinking "poor man's SCAR" until I looked up the MSRP on them. Not a cheap rifle either.

I have always wanted one of these rifles. Congrats on finding one and getting the parts you needed/wanted. Hoping Franklin Armory will pull it off and release these again.

Let us know how it shoots!

yes, a SCAR traditionally has sold for what I paid on this one. Personally, the Bren 2 is the "poor man's SCAR"....which is why I own it vs. the SCAR. I've shot the 16 and 17 and it comes down to: 5.56? Bren 2. Real effin NATO? SCAR 17. For me at least.

That does look like a serious rifle. Nice looking.

We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I can't find my coyote brown pmags so didn't want to stick an FDE one in there. Soon.

Pretty sweet rifle; personally, on the aesthetics front, it looks better than a SCAR 16S.

Liked it when it was originally the Masada. Should have a changeable m16 type grip.

I picked up an ACR several years ago, it was the basic one but I got a folding stock for it as well. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get a 300BO barrel for it. Now it doesn’t matter as I have an 8” and 16” AR uppers and rarely shoot either … but if the mood strikes me I’ve got about 600 rounds loaded up just in case.

By the way, if you want to put a lighter/2-stage triggers in it, just pick out your favorite and either use the original spring or modify the one in your kit like the original … I haven’t tried one of the drop-in units or a binary.

If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.

I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either Wink
