Does anyone know if the AR and the ARM barrels were made to the same dimensions, or was one somehow thicker in diameter than the other?
I'm not sure if they made heavier barrels on either weapon - however my gut feeling is if they did it would be on the ARM models. These were designed for sustained fire in a squad automatic realm - and used larger mags, had thicker handguards etc. I have a 5.56 ARM, and they are pretty sturdy. |

Hey! I like stuff
| Who do we like for Galil barrels? I saw these kits as well but haven't been able to turn up much for barrel makers.

To all of you who are serving or have served our country, Thank You
| The original IMI Galil AR and ARM barrels were made to the same contours. The barrels were chrome lined and made for IMI by Colt. |

Fellow Northern Virginian! Let us know if you find anything, would be a fun project.

That was my recollection as well, but I wasn't aware that Colt made the barrels. I'll have to do some checking when I can access my old hard drive so I can't be absolutely positive on this, but I seem to recall that either ORF or Hillbilly were using Green Mountain barrels on their builds, or at least one time were. |
