wolfe 2111.5" AR Muzzle Device?
Looking to finish an AR pistol. What is the recommended muzzle device for a short AR? Range toy in 5.56.
I have in my parts stash:
AAC 3 prong flash hider
Strike Industries J-comp
ALG SCB (leader for size, but I am assuming this will be unpleasant to shoot).
KAK flash can (currently on 9mm build)
Bird cage
Thread protector

PorterNflash can will be nicer to you and those around you on the range. if it is just a range toy, I wouldn't see much of a need to hide flash or to compensate for recoil in speed shooting. my train of thought says go with the flash can for your needs.
You can always keep a good comp in your gun bag and screw it on there if you feel like you need to drive off any annying someone at the range.

RHINOWSOGet the most obnoxious brake you can. It'll be a range clearer, which is always enjoyable.

kilyungDo you plan to ever suppress it?

jaybirdaccountantA linear style break will be easier on your ears.

That's the most relevant question. If you have money to spend I would get a Dead Air flash hider and add a Pyro muzzle brake to mitigate recoil and have a nice fireball to boot

BisleyblackhawkMy 10.5" upper came with the KAK flash can installed...after shooting with a friend who's 10.5" barrel has the standard bird cage...the KAK is somewhat more pleasant noise wise from behind the gun than the bird cage. So I guess it's design works to some small degree sending sound forward.

StramboI have the AAC Blackout on my 10.5", really tames the flash to nil and the noise has never bothered me (or anyone else near as I can tell). It isn't like a brake...which would be really loud!
