JonDaddy82Damn! Ruger AR-556 for $475
I know AR's are super cheap right now in general, but just in case anyone that missed the email:
http://grabagun.com/ruger-ar-5...-16-1-inch-30rd.htmlThat's a pretty cheap factory built AR for anyone that needs a truck gun on the cheap. $482 with shipping + your FFL. I've been building all of mine lately and can't remember the last time I bought a store bought AR, but for someone starting out this is pretty hard to beat...

geektoadPicked one up the end of last year on a deal. They're nice little shooters. At these prices they're a no-brainer.

jac1304Building used to be cheaper, not so much anymore. With a transfer, tax under 525.00, not bad but who needs another AR?
March 03, 2017, 08:33 PM
parabellumAy, there's the rub. We are AR saturated.

mbinkyWow that is good. I liken building your own AR to rebuilding a small chevy. Yea you can pull your motor, plop in new rings, bearings, timing chain, fix whats broke for like a thousand bucks. (Using name brand parts) But for the same price you could also grab a Goodwench longblock with a warrenty and just turn the key and run.

cobrajetYep, everybody was stocking up in case Hillary won. It's not just the vendors either, I know a guy who is sitting on 10 of them right now thinking he was going to make big money during the panic.

JonDaddy82I'm in the same boat. I could reduce my AR inventory by 50% and be golden. I'm into all of them right, but I think I'd still have a hard time selling them.

Nah... your just warming up !

awa762There's always a place for a cheaper gun. The $500 Ruger AR is something I'd consider taking into the woods for feral hogs. I can fall into a mud hole with it and I won't be bothered as much compared to the other more expensive rifles that have piled up.
Gun redundancy is a nice thing to have.

I think you need a couple more at least.
I like to have back-ups for the back-up!

DtechWe are definitely in the "Golden Age" of guns and ammo again. Enjoy and take advantage.

Quoted for truth! Not since the early 80's has it been this good.

ACTEGTrying to resist... Really don't need another rifle...

kimberkidNow all we need is a plasma rifle in the 40 watt range to make all our AR's really tank in value and truly obsolete ...
... not like the SCAR and other new design's haven't tried, but they're still launching the same ammo that the AR has for 50+ years.
If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.
I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

I have several kids. They each need an AR for when they come of age. Who knows what it will be like in the future. Therefore, the new pricing is helpful. I just wish pistols would take the same price drop.

She'd rather have Trump than a cheap quality AR.
And I agree, actually.
{Tho...I just ordered her one...
