In an interesting twist, I bought a 7 round tube and a Mod 2 handguard from Beretta, and both say made in the USA on the label, so they seem to be US made parts, which makes them suitable for use for 922r compliance.
The big question is how many parts on the 922r list are in a Beretta 1301. I’ve heard both 13 and 14.

SgtGoldI may have been in error with the sear as I thought there was a 922r replacement sear, which it appears doesn't exist. That list is incorrect as the Urbano pistol grip stock is a US made part, and would count as two parts. The fact that the Urbano unit is a one piece stock\pistol grip doesn't negate the fact that those parts are mentioned individually on the 922r list. I make the count at 15 parts, but since this is a manufacturer\importer responsibility we're never going to find out the what if.

Dwill104Which list? I assume the 14 parts count list assumes the original Beretta standard stock. The Urbano stock only reduces the imported parts count by one since it replaces the Beretta stock. The pistol grip doesn’t count because the OEM doesn’t have one. Adding a US made part doesn’t count if you’re not also deleting an imported part.

parabellumI don't understand the concern about this. Are some 1301 owners worried that the ATF is going to show up at their house and confiscate their shotgun? Unless my understanding of the regulation is wrong, the only real concern is that Beretta might halt production, or, with the 1301 being a cash cow for them, Beretta might begin offering the 1301 with reduced magazine capacity, the way Benelli did to the M1 Super90 in the late 1980s.

You’re right of course Para. Like I’ve said before, 922(r) is unenforceable for an individual, law abiding gun owner. There is so much ambiguity in definitions of various terms that reasonable doubt is just about built into the law. No US Attorney’s Office would take a 922(r) case against any non felon/drug dealer/terrorist/ mass shooter, etc. It’s just not going to happen. And for what it’s worth feds don’t make summary arrests based upon probable cause, even if they legally can. Nobody I have ever worked with as a fed has ever arrested anyone without consulting with the US Attorney’s Office. It just doesn’t happen.

Yep. I was contemplating a Mod 2, but $850.00 1301's don't grow on trees. I'll probably rattle can it. Also have a Nordic extension and Aridus forearm coming. Keeping my eyes open for a Magpul Mossberg SGA stock and adapter.
That 1301 Marine made it to my FFL today. It's actually far better than I expected from the seller's description.

That’s the exact setup I have! A marine finish 1301, came with black furniture. I added the Aridus adapter and a Magpul stock, and an Aridus converted Magpul hand guard. The Nordic extension works great and looks good on mine! I’d recommend that whole setup! I’ll eventually add a red dot of some sort, but I’m not there yet!

This is the second 1301 I own. The first is all decked out with Aridus, Magpul, GG&G goodies. I had a Nordic +2 extension, Aridus/Magpul forearm, and a Holosun 507C waiting for the Marine version to arrive and just installed them last night. It came with a GG&G RMR plate and flashlight pic rail mount. I ordered a Mossberg SGA stock and adapter from GG&G's Black Friday sale this morning (free shipping, so was basically 10% off).
How has the finish held up on yours?

SigLawI have the 1301 marine set up like above (also have the Mossberg Magpul stock). In my opinion, the finish is not great but it’s a gun so I do not much care. One day I will get it cerakoted to cover all the scratches it has.
