Find a used 10/22. Add:

https://www.kiddinnovativedesi...ger-blade_p_116.html

https://www.acculite22.com/16-...Matte-p/16tnf-bm.htm

https://deserttech.com/trek-22.php

Then find an el-cheapo lvpo from Opticsplanet.

You'll have a 22 that is more compact and lighter than a factory 10/22, and considerably more accurate. The biggest problem with bullpups is the trigger, no issue here even if you don't put a Kidd in it. The stock is all business. Fun and interesting, but a really strong contender for a useful survival rifle.

I do like me some 10/22, and for years I've seen different bullpup offerings. All of them like Minnie Mouse at divorce court. Fucking Goofy.

There is no fat to trim here, you can just slap an unmodified 10/22 in there without the barrel and trigger. The barrel, formerly Whistlepig, now acculite, is excellent I've used them in the past.

The bulkiest part here is the optic, but you could do all kinds of stuff. You could do a 24" barrel, I would have gone 18 but they were out of stock and I had to have one NOW. Put a 30rnder on it, and have 50rnds of .22 ready to go.

Haha! Excellent.

That's a slick setup. Talk about a handy gopher getter. LPVO is probably the right answer for rapid engagements from 5-150 yards.

If anybody remembers my 24" 10/22, that was an Acculite barrel and is MOA or better at 100yds. It's great because you have to wait for it to hit the target. This thing can probably reach out, and the LVPO/LPVO/LOPV is the right call I think. I'm not good with pronouns so I don't know what you're supposed to call them.

Just because I wasn't sure, I didn't pay a lot for that muffler, and the reticle is just stupid. There is all kinds of cluttered ranging dogshit. Take a page from the "donut of death" you dummies. If I can find an LPVO/VLOP with a simple crosshair or anything that doesn't look like an eye test or like somebody elbowed a keyboard, I'll go with that.

That's a neat kit, pricey but results in a nice package.

It’s held my interest due to how svelte a package it ends up as.

I mean, I bought a used 10/22 and threw almost everything out, it was cheaper than buying a receiver, bolt, trigger etc.. but if you already have a 10/22 and just put it in the stock, you're only out the $300. The barrel and Kidd trigger aren't necessity, but they make it sweeet. The weight savings of the barrel, with an even lighter optic, would really make it.

So I've always be concerned about these 50/50 halved set ups feeling out of sync or flimsy? Any issues or anything like that?

Nah, I'm just cheap & enjoy vicarious living through the group here.
If I had a 10/22 already, it'd be tempting.

Can you not get one with a thumbhole or normal grip?

I haven't checked their website since I got mine. I doubt it. When you actually shoulder it it's not weird. Pistol grips and thumbholes are awkward and bulky, a lot like the other .22 stocks I linked earlier. This is different.

My RDB-S is weird too:

The guys who have come to the range thinking it's weird garbage, go home with a strange warm feeling after shooting it. They know they want one now.
