What is the best AK-pattern pistol to Form 1 into an SBR? 5.45x45mm or 7.62x39mm? Nice is overrated "It's every freedom-loving individual's duty to lie to the government." Airsoftguy, June 29, 2018

I'm kinda partial to the Yugo M92 myself. M85 if you want the smaller caliber. I have my own style of humor. I call it Snarkasm.

I understand the 5.45 guns are a better sbr for the recoil/blast sensitive. 7.62 is probably the better performer from a short barrel. A Perpetual Disappointment...

I have a krinkov sbr in 7.62x39 with the triangle folding stock. It is very light and the recoil is about the same as an AR.

I have a Zastava M92 that has been great. I had the rear trunnion swapped out to mount a magpul AK stock on it.

Two years ago, I SBR'd my Arsenal SLR-104 UR. Before: During: After: I've fired Draco pistols before and while they were fun to fire, I prefer 5.45 AKs. More pleasant to fire and a bit more accurate. SIG 553. Whenever the 553R is available. Otherwise an Arsenal. --------------------------------------------- "AND YEA THOUGH THE HINDUS SPEAK OF KARMA, I IMPLORE YOU...GIVE HER A BREAK, LORD". - Clark W. Griswald
