I picked this one up recently. This one should be a good shooter and hope to find out soon. Going to add a Weaver T36 scope to it and probably change out the trigger to a Timney. If I don't screw up it should be a shooter.

Congratulations, nice looking rifle. All of the MTRs I’ve been around shoot well. Finding the best ammo and lot will determine whether it shoots good or great; I was lucky that my wife’s rifle likes the inexpensive Norma Tac but testing ammo is part of the fun of shooting a .22

Sig Marine, yes you are right on all counts. Can't wait to do some testing.

I keep thinking I’d like to have another precision 22 LR rifle, and that’s one I keep going back to. I’ve seen many good YouTube reviews, but it would be better to hear from someone who might not have a vested interest in reporting only the good stuff.

I will be very interested to see your posts about how it shoots: distance, ammo, conditions. Smile

I'll come back and report when I get it all figured out. I shoot mostly 50 yd distance. I expect it to shoot sub moa. We will see.

So I swapped the CZ457 MTR action into my CZ VPT stock and put the CZ VPT action in the MDT chassis. This action has a 21" Lilja barrel. I also added a very nice Zeiss S3 636 X 56 scope. As expected the new scope is crystal clear and bright. I took the set up to the range yesterday to sight it in. Below are the results. The alien target is from a local on line contest and was shot at 50 yards. The black dots are 3/8". The IBS target is 10 rounds at 50 yards. Shooting RWS R50. Pleased with this set up.

The MTR in the VPT stock will be tested on another trip. I will be doing some ammo testing at that time to see if I can find something it likes and is consistent. That's what you hope to find consistent and very few flyers.
