Black92LX? For Streamlight TLR RM2 Users
I just picked up my first one of these lights. I am going to mount it in the left side of the handguard and not use a pressure switch (for now). So I need to add a small section of rail to attach it and I am trying to determine what length rail I need.
It appears to me that there is a portion on the rubber cover for the switch port that should be placed in the slot of a rail to keep the cover from getting knocked off.
Is that correct or does that not need to be in a slot?

I have that exact light on my DDM4PDW. I have mine mounted to a 5 slot section of M-Lok compatible rail, but the RM2 only needs 3 slots worth to mount. IMO, it’s more stable with the 5 slot.
As for the rubber cover, while it looks like that’s a rail slot, it’s too narrow to completely occupy a slot. I think it’s just a tab to grab when you’re removing the cover. I don’t have a pressure switch on mine and the rubber cover stays on fairly securely, even tho it hangs in free space.
I will say that this is not my favorite WML, but for the 7” barrel and 6” handguard that I’m working with, it serves the purpose fairly well. If I had more real estate to work with, I’d have stayed with a TLR-1.

Black92LXThanks just wanted to make for sure that rubber tab being in a rail slot was not detrimental to that plug staying in place.
I went with this light for the purposes of cutting down on real estate as well.
I currently have a Cloud Defensive Rein on the gun which I like a lot it just takes up a lot of space.
This gun is currently a 16” gun but whenever this NFA debacle gets sorted out I’ll be doing a 11.5” upper to slap on this gun or just get a new complete 11.5” gun.
Also work paid for this light so that is kind of a big reason too
