I traded a PS90 to a gentleman yesterday for this guy NIB. I think I did very well on that trade considering I paid $1200 for my gun and these go for $1700 - $2000. I took it out today and was able to shoot 5 shot groups at 50yds with the red dot which looked like I shot them with a magnified optic. Average groups at that distance was about 1”. The trigger is horrendous, but did not seem to affect my shooting. 100yds groups were around 1.5” with the red dot. Ammo was 62gr Speer Gold Dot which GT Distributors has for a steal. It is police trade-in ammo for $13 a box.

Very interesting weapon. any ideas about improving the trigger? Your shot groups are impressive.

Worse than the PS90? Because I didn't think that was possible. I haven't shot a hellion, but based on my experience with a P90, it just HAS to be better. I've gotta think you made a good trade.

... That's how you know it's a real bullpup. Big Grin

(It's a hallmark of the bullpup design, inherent to every model to one extent or another, due to the trigger necessarily being positioned so far forward of the actual firing system and therefore requiring a super long trigger bar or similar mechanism.)

Yes and no. The description of the mechanism is correct, but bullpup triggers seems to have gotten somewhat better over the years. The AUG trigger and the FN triggers (PS90 and FS2000) aren’t good. But later guns like the IWI X95 and Keltec RDB actually have decent triggers for the type. Even the original Tavor SAR trigger isn’t that bad, just heavy. The Hellion seems to fall in the middle for me. Not as bad as the FN guns, but not quite as good as the X95 or RDB.

on some Facebook pages dedicated to the Helion, people are talking about aftermarket triggers already available.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." OttoSig,

I trade all the time…lol. If I don’t like it , it goes away. Guns are tools to me. Big Grin

Jard has triggers for the gun but I have no desire to buy one. I can live with the stock trigger.

Sounds like a good trade. I like my PS90 but could be tempted to trade for something like that. The PS90 is a fun gun and the trigger is interestingly long but I don't think that bad, compared to other guns I have owned. The Steyr SPP being one.

Let us know how she shoots.

Two ejection ports. Being left-handed, that's neat.

Exactly. The trigger is the "go switch" for shooting. A substandard trigger will never allow the shooter to maximize a firearm's performance.

Very cool rifle/design!

My AUG trigger started as "meh" from the factory. With a few upgrades, i feel like it has gotten pretty damn good.

Black Talon is about to release a trigger upgrade for the Hellion. I'm sure there will be others to follow.

Very nice trade. FWIW, scuttlebutt elsewhere on the internutz is that they tend to like 69-grain and heavier bullets.

I really like my Hellion and have been satisfied with the accuracy I get with 55gr and 62 grain bullets. I will have to try the 69gr bullets to see if there is any difference.
